Before pairing two platforms, check that you are allowed to trade on both. This article summarises Polymarket's published geographic restrictions as read on 4 Nov 2026. The list is long and changes, so use it only as a description of how the system is organised and read the current documentation. It is not legal advice, and it does not suggest how to get around a restriction.
Three levels
The documentation describes three levels. First, fully blocked jurisdictions, tied to sanctions (it names, for example, Iran, Syria, Cuba, North Korea and the Ukrainian regions of Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk): orders from there are rejected. Second, regulatory-restricted jurisdictions that are close-only on both the frontend and the API: users can close existing positions but cannot open new ones. Third, a shorter list that is close-only on the frontend only; the documentation says the API itself is not restricted for those.
Examples from the lists
The close-only list on both frontend and API includes countries such as France, Germany, Italy, Poland, the United Kingdom and the United States, and several Canadian provinces. The frontend-only list names Ireland, Japan, Malta (sports only), the Netherlands and South Korea. These are examples from one reading, not a complete or current list.
The geoblock endpoint
The documentation describes a public endpoint that returns blocked, ip, country and region for the requesting address, so a program can check before it submits orders.
What it means for an arbitrage
An arbitrage needs both legs. If one platform is close-only for you, you can only unwind, so you cannot open a new pair at all. The United States has its own regulated product, which is covered in Polymarket US Explained, and the European picture is in prediction markets in Europe. For the broader question, see is prediction market arbitrage legal. Read the platform terms and your local rules before you trade.
Where Arbitrage Agent fits
Arbitrage Agent matches markets across Kalshi and Polymarket, checks the resolution rules on both sides, and shows the result in a live feed with a step-by-step guide for both legs. You place the orders yourself, and the final check of the details is still yours. See the plans or start with the Starter plan.
